In my opinion..

Disclosure is a trojan-horse to get the American people (and the world at large) behind passing laws to further solidify the infrastructure and prison walls of the surveillance state.. under the guise that the skies are scary..

And truth is, the skies are scary right now and will be even more so in the future. As the technology of warfare changes, so does the battlefield. What actually makes the sky scary, and foreseeably super scary, is largely classified as it would reveal sources, methods, research, development etc. etc. With todays technology covert warfare can happen nearly any where, by any one, using any method, for any reason... and in today's world civilians are likely to get caught in the cross-fire.

If terrorists, cartels, and crime syndicates are dangerous with explosives and AK47s.. imagine how powerful they will be with DEWs, stealth drones, neuroweapons, bioweapons, etc etc... And this is why they would go to such great measures (like lying) to accomplish global and space superiority. So, for natsec reasons, the public is given a cover story, a narrative, and a cause to rally behind.

Since the Biden Administration (and probably much earlier) we have been finding new ways to compete with our adversaries, specifically merging private tech and industrial companies with the military and intelligence agencies. Do you remember when Pokemon Go got it's funding from In-Q-Tel and then took pictures without your knowledge to get better data for drone strikes?

I am sure most everyone will not agree with me now, and that's totally understandable given the optics of the last handful of years...

But, in a short few years, when we have way more drones in our sky, cameras on our corners, individual profiling, facial recognition, and unimaginable spy tech constantly monitoring every single move we make and still have absolutely no Flying Saucers, advanced technology, or Alien Bodies.. you may be reminded of this monologue.

This is war and this is an arms race.
